The Brimfield Flea Market: Here are some of the wackiest things you can expect to find

The Brimfield Flea Market was back on Tuesday on Route 20 in Brimfield for the final time of the year.

Running from Sept. 6-11, the Brimfield Flea Market is known for selling just about anything you could think up from antique collectibles, to stone statues and even animal skulls.

Here are some of the wackiest finds to check out through the mile long market.

Cat statue on display at the Brimfield Flea MarketStatues of animals dressed as people

This statue of a cat in human clothing was seen among other animal statues surrounding it not all wearing clothes. But it may look nice in someones garden. You can even find stone busts of people at the market as well.

Animal skulls on displayAnimal skulls

Scattered throughout the market, shoppers will come across animal skulls that are on display ready to be sold. It is unclear what kind of animals these once were but they all present with sharp and long teeth.

Character headCharacter heads

Character heads are also among the strange things shoppers can buy. Pictured above, this character head presented a jolly smile with a swollen nose and cheeks. The head was also given hair and facial hair.

Spirit boardA spirit board

Feel like channeling a ghost? Youll be able to at the flea market. In a halloween themed stand, ouija boards are scattered across the display in different shapes, sizes and colors. The idea is that two or more people would sit around the board, place their finger tips on a planchette, pose a question and watch as the planchette moved from letter to letter, spelling out the answers seemingly of its own mind, Smithsonian Magazine wrote.

Animal headsTaxidermy

Apart from skulls, you can find actual animal heads mounted on walls at the market. The market carries stuffed deer heads but you can also see some not so typical animals that have been preserved, like a blow fish.

Skeleton chairA skeleton chair

Want to go the extra mile for decorating this Halloween? You can buy a chair of a skeleton for a spooky touch to your decor. The arm rests of the chair consists of the skeletons cloak along with two skull heads at the end of the arm.

Beer signA beer sign

This is for the beer lovers specifically Michelob Ultra lovers. This particular sign comes framed and is decently large, perfect for adding space to a blank wall. There are also road signs at the market available like a stop sign, yield signs and warning signs.

Turtle shellsTurtle shells

No there arent actual turtles inside, but you can still buy their shell. Depending on their size, the turtle shells run anywhere from $20-$30. The shells were being sold among the animal skulls, adding to the collection buyers can make of animal remains.

Tin animals Tin animal decor

These canister looking decorations come in a slew of different colors and different types of animals like goats, roosters, elephants and birds. They range in size as well from small to standing tall. They make the perfect piece of decor for a farm, outdoor garden or a lawn.

Vintage clothingVintage clothing

Although not traditionally wacky, vintage clothes are a rare find nowadays. Luckily, the Brimfield Flea Market has plenty. Located in a fashion tent, the tent holds vintage clothing spanning from the Victorian era, the 50s, the 80s and every decade in between. Some might be harder to find than others but they are usually marked with a sign that lets you know what era of time you are shopping in.

The market will be in town until Sunday for the last time of the year. It is held every year for a week in May, July and September for a whole week. You can watch a Facebook Live of MassLive exploring the market here.
