SEC Shortens Settlement Cycle in Response to Meme Stock Frenzy

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission voted 3-2 to cut the standard settlement cycle to one business day after the transaction from two. The new standard will apply to most broker-dealer securities transactions and will take full effect on May 28, 2024.
