TVS rolls out 150,000 BMW Motorrad 310cc motorcycles.

Shares of TVS Motor Company Limited darted up 2 percent to Rs 1,530 on October 9 after the two-wheeler major announced rolling out 150,000 units of BMW Motorrad’s 310cc series of motorcycles at its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu.

“In line with this, TVS Motor and BMW Motorrad are jointly developing new platforms and future technologies, including electric vehicles,” TVS said in an exchange filing on October 6. TVS added that as part of this extended association, its scope includes the design and development of future BMW Motorrad products.

Meanwhile, TVS today said that its partnership with BMW has completed 10 years of two-wheeler manufacturing. TVS signed a strategic partnership deal with BMW in April 2013 to manufacture sub-500 CC motorcycles. The company’s Hosur plant already manufactures BMW G310R and 310GS.

Over the course of 10 years, the two companies have developed and launched five motorcycles, including the BMW G 310 R, BMW 310 GS, and BMW G310 RR, along with TVS Motor Company’s flagship motorcycle, TVS Apache RR 310.

Speaking on the development, KN Radhakrishnan, Director of TVS said “We are excited about the future as we continue to explore new opportunities and push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of two-wheelers.”
