Wipro Ltd: The IT major surged over 3 percent to Rs 422 after it completed its subscription to the equity share capital of FPEL Ujwal, a renewable energy company, for Rs 6.3 crore. On September 1, Wipro signed a definitive agreement to subscribe to a 9.5 percent stake in FPEL Ujwal, which is engaged in the business of developing, building, and managing a portfolio of solar power assets.
UltraTech Cement Ltd: The cement stock darted up 3 percent at Rs 8,379, extending gains for the second day. As per reports, the Aditya Birla flagship may join the race along with Parth Jindal-led JSW Cement to acquire Heidelberg Cement, put on the block by its parent Germany-headquartered Heidelberg Materials.
Grasim Industries Ltd: The linen and fabric producer surged nearly 2 percent at Rs 1,962, extending gains for the second day. Volumes were lower than the one-month average, as only 3 lakh shares changed hands on the bourses.
Hindustan Unilever Ltd: The FMCG bellwether stock rose nearly 1.5 percent at Rs 2,551, extending its bullish trajectory for the third day. Volumes were low, as only 10 lakh shares changed hands against the one-month average of 18 lakh shares.
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd: The pharma major bounced back at Rs 5,559, up 1.5 percent after falling about 0.5 percent the previous day. More than 2 lakh shares changed hands, lower than the previous day’s 3 lakh.
Coal India Ltd: The PSU stock was down nearly a percent at Rs 301, a day after gaining over 5 percent. Volumes were fairly low at 68 lakh shares against 2 crore shares recorded on October 10.
SBI Life Insurance Ltd: The stock Shares fell 0.6 percent to Rs 1,293, a day after gaining 2 percent. Volumes fell to 4 lakh shares against 12 lakh shares exchanged in the previous session.
IndusInd Bank Ltd: The private lender was trading 0.04 percent lower at Rs 1,420, extending losses for the third straight day. Only 9 lakh shares changed hands as against the 1-month average of 29 lakh shares.
