All the sectoral indices ended in the green with metal, auto, capital goods, FMCG, power, oil & gas, realty up 1-2 percent each.

On November 2, the Sensex was up 489.57 points or 0.77 percent at 64,080.90, while the Nifty gained 144.10 points or 0.76 percent at 19,133.25. About 2,064 shares advanced, while 1,132 shares declined and 103 shares were unchanged.

Kansai Nerolac Paints | CMP Rs 311.6 | Shares of Kansai Nerolac Paints fell 1.1 percent with higher volumes despite the company announcing a 56 percent year-on-year jump in profit in the September quarter at Rs 177 crore. Six lakh shares exchanged hands compared to monthly average of three lakh.

Thangamayil Jewellery | CMP Rs 1,217.95 | Thangamayil Jewellery exteneded its losses for the second consecutive session as the stock lost 5.4 percent on November 2. Investors dumped the stock after the company’s net profit dropped 47 percent year-on-year to Rs 8 crore in the quarter from Rs 15 crore in the year-ago period.

Triveni Turbine | CMP Rs 392.55 | Triveni Turbine stock went up 9.39 percent after the company reported highest-ever revenue and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) in the July-September quarter of the current fiscal. In the September quarter, the company’s revenue rose 32 percent year-on-year to Rs 388 crore, while Ebitda jumped 34 percent to Rs 88 crore.

Syrma SGS Technology | CMP Rs 526 | Shares of Syrma SGS Technology plunged nearly 12 percent after the company’s EBITDA margin contracted 320 basis points to 6.9 percent in July-September, sharply down from 10 percent recorded in the year-ago period. A spike in costs of raw material and finance expenses dragged the company’s operational performance.

GMDC | CMP Rs 323.6 | Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation dropped 8.04 percent after the company recorded profit of Rs 76 crore for the July-September period of FY24, falling sharply by 50 percent compared to the corresponding period last fiscal, with weakness in operating performance as well as top-line.

Britannia Industries | CMP Rs 4528 | Britannia Industries increased 2.97 percent after the multinational FMCG announced a 19.55 percent year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 586.50 crore for the quarter ending September 2023.

JK Tyre & Industries | CMP Rs 338.25 | Shares of JK Tyre jumped 9.77 percent after the company reported a massive 372 percent on-year growth in consolidated profit at Rs 242.1 crore for the July-September period of FY24, driven by strong operating performance and lower input costs.

VA Tech Wabag | CMP Rs 500.8 | VA Tech Wabag gained 4.8 percent after the company bagged a repeat order worth about 215 million Tunisian Dinars (approximately 63 million euros or Rs 560 crore).
