Nifty Gainers and Losers: BPCL, Adani Ports gain while ICICI Bank, Tech cos go down

Indices ended up flat after a volatile session. The Sensex was up 33.21 points or 0.05 percent at 64,975.61, and the Nifty was up 36.80 points or 0.19 percent at 19,443.50.

BPCL | CMP Rs 382.55 | Shares of Bharat Petroleum jumped 2.62 percent aided by higher margins on stronger sales volumes along with fall in crude oil prices.

Adani Ports | CMP Rs 817.25 | The Adani Ports stock gained 2.47 percent after the company announced U.S. International Development Finance Corporation will fund the company’s JV in Sri Lanka. Adani Ports is also set to announce its quarterly results on November 9.

Asian Paints | CMP Rs 3,095.25 | Asian Paints shares extended their gains to fifth trading session as the stock rose by 2.04 percent, with eight lakh shares exchanging hands.

Cipla | CMP Rs 1,241.2 | Shares of Cipla rose 2.03 percent, trading in the green for second consecutive trading session. Trade volumes were at 11 lakh.

L&T | CMP Rs 2,997.95 | Shares of L&T reversed the losses of previous session and surged 1.24 percent with 10 lakh trade volume in the bourses.

ICICI Bank | CMP Rs 936 | ICICI Bank fell 1.28 percent, snapping a 4 day up streak with strong volumes as 2 crore shares exchanged hands compared to weekly average of 1 crore.

Infosys | CMP Rs Rs 1,390.5 | Shares of Infosys were down 0.98 percent after 4 consecutive sessions of finishing in the green. About 39 lakh shares exchanged hands in the market.

NTPC | CMP Rs Rs 236.9 | NTPC was down 0.94 percent with strong trading volumes. 1 crore shares were traded, as opposed to weekly average of 67 lakh.

Tech Mahindra | CMP Rs 1,139.15 | Tech Mahindra stock fell 0.86 percent, ending a 3-session streak of up move. 8 lakh shares were traded in the bourses.

HCLTech | CMP Rs 1,266 | Shares of HCLTech dived 0.62 percent lower. 10 lakh shares exchanged hands.
