Aster DM block deal: Shares worth Rs 2,070 crore change hands; Olympus likely seller
The share price of Aster DM Healthcare has surged 84 percent in the last year.
Shares of Aster DM Healthcare slipped over 6 percent after 5.1 crore shares, representing an 10.1 percent stake, in the company changed hands on the bourses on March 27 morning.
Though the buyers and sellers were not immediately known, Moneycontrol wrote a day earlier that private equity firm Olympus was looking to sell nearly 10 percent of its stake in Aster DM Healthcare through a block deal
“Olympus Capital Asia Investments Ltd holds 18.96 per cent stake currently in Aster DM, of which it is looking to offload 9.8 per cent stake,” sources told Moneycontrol.

The total transaction value of the deal was Rs 2,070 crore. Shareholding data shows that promoter group holds 41.88 percent stake in the company and nearly 58 percent is held by retail investors.
In November, in a big-bang deal in the domestic healthcare sector, Aster DM Healthcare approved the sale of its Middle East or Gulf Co-Operation Council (GCC) business to Alpha GCC Holdings Ltd for an equity value of a billion dollars.
