Shares of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers surged 3 percent on September 20 after the company said that it has signed non-binding pacts with Lloyd’s Register and Caterpillar Inc.

At 11:12 am, shares of the company were trading up 0.7 percent at Rs 829 on the BSE. The scrip has given 40 percent returns to investors in the past three months.

The company had participated in the Defence and Security Equipment International Exhibition in London, 2023, and entered into two non-binding agreements which are confidential in nature, Garden Reach said in a regulatory filing.

Antique Stock Broking believes Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers can ramp up its execution to Rs 5000 crore per annum and accelerate its net profit to Rs 500 crore by FY25.

With orders worth Rs 24,500 crore, which is about 10 times their FY23 revenue, expected to be finished by FY27, the execution path looks plausible but not linear. To chase growth, however, the company’s dependence on sub-contractors like L&T can keep margins volatile, the brokerage firm pointed out.
