Among sectors, information technology index gained nearly 3 percent, while realty, oil & gas and auto were up a percent each

The equity benchmarks extended their winning to the second day on November 16 though last-hour buying pared some of the gains. The Sensex ended 306.55 points, or 0.47 percent, higher at 65,982.48, and the Nifty was up 89.70 points, or 0.46 percent, at 19,765.20. About 2,007 shares advanced, 1,617 declined and 114 were unchanged.
