Top Nifty gainers and losers: Hero MotoCorp, Eicher roar; Cipla, UltraTech sink

Indian benchmark indices ended on a flat note in the volatile session on November 23. A mixed trend was seen on the sectoral front, with healthcare index down 1 percent and Information Technology index down 0.5 percent. On the other hand, realty and oil & gas indices added 1 percent each and auto index up 0.4 percent. At close, the Sensex was down 5.43 points or 0.01 percent at 66,017.81, and the Nifty was down 9.80 points or 0.05 percent at 19,802. About 1748 shares advanced, 1407 shares declined, and 120 shares unchanged.

Hero Motocorp Ltd: The auto stock surged 4.5 percent to Rs 3,566, rallying for the eighth consecutive session. The surge comes after the Nifty auto index scaled to a new 52-week high, lifting investor sentiment.

Bajaj Auto: Shares of the two-wheeler and three-wheeler major rose 3 percent to Rs 5,922 after the Nifty hit a new 52-week high. The scrip extended gains for the seventh trading session in a row.

Eicher Motors Ltd: The stock snapped its three-day losing streak after gaining 1.5 percent to Rs 3,889 on November 23. Much like the other two-wheeler companies on the index, the Royal Enfield maker was also a beneficiary of the surge in the auto index. About 4 lakh shares changed hands, matching the scrip’s one-week average.

IndusInd Bank Ltd: The private lender rose 1 percent to Rs 1,486, breaking a two-day losing streak. IndusInd Bank’s promoters have denied claims of raising funds by pledging their stake in the bank. They described as malicious and factually incorrect a report that claimed that the Hindujas raised Rs 8,000 crore by pledging IndusInd stake.

BPCL Ltd: Shares of the petroleum major surged nearly 3 percent to Rs 412, extending gains for the second day in a row on November 23. The sruge comes after it gave an order to manufacture over 2,500 EV chargers which will be installed at various BPCL petrol pumps across the country.

Cipla Ltd: The pharma major plunged 8 percent to Rs 1,170 after the United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) issued a warning letter to the company for its Pithampur unit. CNBC-TV18 said the warning letter flagged data integrity issues along with product complaints and microbial contamination.

LTIMindtree Ltd: Shares of the L&T backed IT major fell 1.5 percent to Rs 5,471 on November 23. Volumes were low as 3 lakh shares changed hands as against the 1-week average of 4 lakh shares on the exchanges.

UltraTech Cement Ltd: Shares of the Aditya Birla Group company traded 2 percent lower at Rs 8,606, snapping their two-day gaining streak. About 2 lakh shares changed hands, matching the scrips 1-week and 1-month average.

SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd: The stock fell 1.3 percent to Rs 1,412, snapping its two-day gaining streak. About 3 lakh shares changed hands as against the 1-week average of 16 lakh shares.

L&T Ltd: Shares of the construction major declined to Rs 3,045, down 1 percent from the previous close on the NSE. As many as 16 lakh shares changed hands as against the 1-week average of 15 lakh shares.
